Wallace "Wayne" Womble Jr.

Wayne was born December 27, 1947 in Raleigh, NC. He was a graduate of Apex High School and NC State University with a BS in Engineering. Wayne was the respected owner of Womble Corvettes. He was a historian and participated with the Charlotte Artillery Civil War Reenactors. Wayne was an avid golfer and softball player.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pansy Broadwell Womble.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Marie Nutt Womble; father, Wallace Wayne Womble, Sr.; daughter, Jodi Womble Gore and husband, Matthew; son, Jeffrey Womble; brother, Tommy Womble and wife, Bertie; sister, Patty McIver and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Cecelia Womble, Charlotte, Miller, and Weldon Gore.

A funeral service will be held 11am Monday, February 1, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the funeral home.
