Walter Joseph Jeleniewski, age 78, of Cary, North Carolina, died Thursday, January 20, 2022 surrounded by his family at his beloved home. Born September 24, 1943, in Hamtramck, Michigan, he was one of four sons of Bruno and Martha Jeleniewski. He graduated from Saint Florian’s High School in 1961.
Walter began his lifetime career in computer systems at Teledyne Technologies, Toledo, Ohio. It was here that he met his beautiful wife Mary Ann. His career eventually took him to Cary, North Carolina where he loyally worked for Lockheed Martin, a contractor to the EPA, until retirement. Walter enjoyed the simple joys in life; reminiscing of times past at Port Sanilac, Burt Lake, and Mackinac to name a few. He enjoyed the beach, a Coors Light, and a Hi-ball at Christmas. He treasured his grandchildren, Sunday dinners, playing his “oldies” on his state-of-the-art stereo and “car talk” especially about his GTO. He was a man of his word, faithful and loving and will be forever missed.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains” …and always remember “Go Blue!”
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (Sorosiak) Jeleniewski; along with four children; Tim (Jennifer) Jeleniewski Raleigh, North Carolina, Andrew Jeleniewski New York, New York, Julie (Prekash) Babu, Raleigh, North Carolina, John (Carmen) Jeleniewski of Cary, North Carolina; 2 grand girls, Ava Babu and Rosemary Jeleniewski and 3 step grandchildren, Logan Babu, Stephanie Holz, and Grace Holz; brother Michael (Marlene) Jeleniewski and many loving relatives, nieces, and nephews.
