Wanda Elaine Whittington

Wanda Elaine Whittington peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at approximately 7:15AM. She was born in Raleigh, NC on December 31st, 1966 to Thomas Oliver Whittington and the late Zora Earlene Brown. Wanda grew up with her family in a little community called Carpenter and graduated from Apex High School in 1985. She served in many different management positions, but settled at A&W Insurance as the lead agent and broker working for many years with her father. She enjoyed the Insurance Business and really loved helping her clients. Many of those clients became good friends of Wanda’s. Wanda also enjoyed the company of her precious cat, Rexa.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by the father of Aaron and Ashleigh, Darryld Craig Goewey; her Grandmother and Grandfather Whittington and her Grandmother and Grandfather Brown.

She is survived by her son, Aaron Goewey (beloved pet Annaleigh); her daughter, Ashleigh Goewey (Jordan); her grandson, Courtland Leigh Whittington; her father, Thomas Oliver Whittington; her sister, Sharon Megan Allen (Scott); a niece and her family; two nephews and their families; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 31st, 2024 at Apex Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM. Wanda’s

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at Apex Funeral Home at 11AM. Burial will follow at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC at 2PM.
