Bill spent his working career as a sales engineer in the field of precision tubing. He loved to travel with his family, and his lifetime itinerary included such places as Australia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, and most of the fifty states.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of sixty-two years, Flossie Helm. Also surviving him are his sister Kitsie Cullen and husband Bill of Paradise Valley, AZ; his sister-in-law Jo Helm of Highland Ranch, CO; his brother-in-law Bob Black of Ithaca, NY; his daughter Cindy Taylor and husband Bill of Wichita Falls, TX; his son Greg Helm and wife Anne of Cary, NC; and his treasured granddaughters Rebecca and Katie Helm.
He was a longtime member of Apex United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, September 6. A separate memorial service will be held at Glenaire in Cary at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 6. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Apex UMC Building Fund or the Glenaire, Inc. Foundation. The family requests that friends attending the memorial services please wear their brightest colors so Bill can watch us gather in his memory.
