

On Wednesday, March 16, 2011 William L. Ingling of Cary, NC was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he was 82. Mr. Ingling passed into glory with his wife, sons, friends and pastor at his side. Born in Vineland, NJ, Mr. Ingling graduated from Vineland High School and then joined the U.S. Army, where he served bravely in Korea.
Upon his honorable discharge in 1953, Mr. Ingling returned to Vineland, where he met his wife, Martha. They married in 1959 and had three sons, Keith, Glenn and David. Mr. Ingling went on to become the Superintendent of Siloam Cemetery in Vineland and served in this capacity until 1972.
In February 1972, Mr. Ingling was appointed, by then New Jersey Governor, William Cahill as one of the founding members of the NJ Cemetery Board. Shortly thereafter, Gov. Cahill appointed Mr. Ingling the 1st Executive Director of the NJ Cemetery Board. A dedicated public servant, he diligently and faithfully executed the duties of his office until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. and Mrs. Ingling relocated to the Carolinas and eventually settled in Cary, NC. Mr. Ingling was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed watching sports on television, but mostly enjoyed being in the presence of his loving family and watching his sons and grandchildren play baseball, football, roller hockey, ice hockey and softball.
Mr. Ingling was pre-deceased by his father, Walter; mother, Mabel; brother, Walter; and sister, Evelyn. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha; adoring sons, Keith and his wife June; Glenn; and David and his wife Eva. Mr. Ingling had four grandchildren that he cherished; Chad Ingling, Derick Ingling, Madelon Ingling and Hope Ingling. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Santino and Jerri Folino of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Albanese of Malaga, NJ and Jean Grimm of Hammonton, NJ, all of whom he enjoyed for many years. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, whose unique and loving spirits always entertained him.
Services for Mr. Ingling are being coordinated through Apex Funeral Home in Apex, NC. On Sunday, March 20, 2011, there will be a viewing from 2:00-3:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service from 3:00-4:00pm, followed immediately by the interment. The viewing, Memorial Service and interment will all take place at Good Hope Baptist Church, 6628 Good Hope Church Rd., Cary, NC 27519. 919-467-8526.
