Lit a candle in memory of Barbara Lea Wilkins

Although we knew Barbara from years ago when my husband worked at Rancho Motors it was most recently that we got to know her better. It started not too long ago when we saw her and Jim at the Elk's in Victorville. We missed her after Jim's passing for a while and then also because of illness. Then she started coming back on a regular basis with I believe, her goddaughter and family, and then with her caretakers. Even when she was a little under the weather she always made her somewhat sarcastic but funny comments. She always had us laughing. A few weeks ago our son was visiting from Georgia. While at the Elk's I introduced her to our son. She took a long look at him, stared him up and down, and said "where have you been hiding?"  "My. my, you sure are a handsome man". Well he joked a bit with her and we returned to our seats. As she was getting ready to leave, she rolled her walker over to our table, looked at our son's wife and said "would you be willing to share him?". We rolled off our chairs laughing and she sure had a big smile on her face. The last time we saw her was at the Elk's on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. She was happy, joking and as she left she said "happy taco Tuesday". That's the way we want to remember her.  Sandy & Dick Feeley
