Berlyn's love will be remembered and his memory honored by his wife of 33 years, Shellie (Beedie) Crowley, his three sons; Darren, Jeremy, and Berlyn Jr., two sisters and spouses; Sheryl (Harold) Stanfill and Rita (Jim) Castledine, as well as nieces, nephews, an aunt, and numerous cousins.
Berlyn was preceded in death by his parents JW and Emma June Crowley, whom he cherished. Happily raised in Bloomington, CA, Berlyn was surrounded by his beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Berlyn often shared his memories of trips to Smitty's local store, carefree days at the Bloomington Plunge, late nights at the local ball park with good friends, and his close family gatherings, where his mother and aunts would make enough pies for everyone to have their own!
Berlyn proudly served in the US Army from 9/29/1972 to 7/29/1975. From his training as a bridge specialist, he found his passion as a heavy equipment operator. Following his honorable discharge, he began what would be a 33-year career working for San Bernardino County (Road Dept., Solid Waste Management, and Flood Control). He valued his work and eventually retired as a Supervisor II.
His favorite pastimes included: Spending time with his family, fishing, boating at Lake Havasu, barbecuing, watching Nascar races ("Go Matt Kenseth!") and feeling the love of his beloved pets.
Berlyn will best be remembered for his unrelenting love, continuous support, and complete devotion to his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd. Apple Valley, CA. The viewing will begin at 10 AM. Berlyn's Service will start at 12 PM, with a graveside service directly after. A reception for family and friends alike will be held on the patio to celebrate Berlyn’s life.
