

Boyd Edward Myers passed away on December 30, 2017 at the age of 68 after a long battle with cancer and other complicated illnesses. He was born in Burbank, California, grew up in Sylmar, California and later made Apple Valley his longtime residence when he married the love of his life.
Boyd was the third of five children. He joined the United States Marine Corps. in 1969 and served in Vietnam. Not long after being honorably discharged, he met his wife, Jan, and they were married in 1974. They were happily married for 43 years and had two sons, Burke and Douglas. They loved to travel and see new places, and they had many wonderful and exciting vacations together.
Boyd was very active in Boy Scouts while his sons were growing up, and enjoyed working with the youth in his church.
Boyd was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, John and Margaret Myers and his mother and step-father, Jessie and Russell Burke. He is survived by his wife, Jan; his sons, Burke and Douglas; daughter-in-law Melanie; and grandchildren, Cameron, Hallie, Ceili, and Kelcie Myers. He is also survived by his brothers, Ron and Jon Myers and his sisters Kathie Grant and Karen Shock.
Boyd's family and friends will miss him dearly. He loved to give to others and had a wonderful sense of humor. He always had a positive outlook on life, a smile, and a kind word for all he met. We will fondly and lovingly hold Boyd in our hearts and always remember the fun times and special memories he helped create.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 6th at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Navajo Rd. in Apple Valley. Graveside services will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park immediately following the service.
