Brent was a rare and beautiful soul—the kind of person who made the world brighter simply by being in it. He had a heart larger than life, a deep and genuine love for people (especially children), and a generosity that knew no limits. He would give the shirt off his back without a second thought. His one-of-a-kind sense of humor could light up any room, ease any heavy moment, and make everyone around him feel truly welcome, valued, and important.
Baseball was one of Brent’s greatest passions. As a dedicated coach—including coaching his son Gavin’s team—and through his service on the Pony League board, he poured his time, energy, and heart into teaching, encouraging, and uplifting young players. He didn’t just coach the game; he shaped young lives.
Above every role he held, Brent’s greatest joy and proudest title was being Gavin’s dad. The love, laughter, and lessons he shared with his son form a bond that time can never diminish. Gavin will carry a piece of his father with him through every chapter of his life.
Brent is survived by his beloved parents, Alan and Kim Lightfeldt; his son Gavin, his sisters, Loren (Harley) and Alexis; his brothers, Justin (Kacie), Durand, and Michael; and his five nieces and one nephew—all of whom were endlessly loved by him.
Brent’s impact stretched far beyond his family. He touched countless lives with quiet kindness, ready to help, and an unmistakable warmth. His legacy is measured not in material things, but in the people he lifted up, the children he inspired, the laughter he left behind, and the many hearts that will forever hold a place for him.
Brent Alan Lightfeldt was one of a kind. There will never be another like him.
Not once in a lifetime—
Once in a Lightfeldt. Forever loved. Forever missed. And never, ever forgotten.
