It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Candace Anne Smithson, a woman who provided an unconditional love to her family and friends. Candace was born on June 3rd 1962 in Nebraska, a place she deeply loved and always dreamed of returning to.
Candace went home to be with the Lord, her Grandmother, and her eldest son Nathan, on March 27th 2026, in Apple Valley CA, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Candace was a very loving and caring Mother and Wife. She devoted everything to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Candace was very passionate and active in
animal activism. She worked directly with PETA, and was a key member of the team that helped stop the use of elephants in the circus. Candace started a very successful candle business later
in life, making all her candles by hand, but once she became a grandmother, that’s all she wanted to be. Nothing was more important to her than Family.
Candace is survived by her Husband Jon Giaimo. Her Son and Daughter in law, Chris and Amanda Giaimo, Her Son Jonathon Giaimo, Her grandchildren Nathanael, Payton, and Cole. Her
Sisters Amy and Joanna. Many nieces, nephews, and friends that loved her and miss her dearly.
Her fur babies Dexter, Jaxx, and Aria and a world that will never be the same without her smile.
Although her loss will leave an immeasurable void, the love she provided will live on in the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the lives she touched. Her energy will remain in the hearts of all who loved her and those blessed to have known her.
Those we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings infinity. Death ends a life, not a relationship. May she rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter in honor of Candace.
