He along with his seven brothers and five sisters were raised in a small mining town of Dawson, New Mexico. It was in this small town he met our esteemed mom, the Love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Lopez (Mare). On March 11, 2026 at the age of 96 he took his last breath on earth and entered heaven where our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his wife of 70 years welcomed him with open arms.
Casper was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II. During his tenure, he was recognized by receiving the WWII Victory Medal. After his military service, he followed the love of his life Mare to California where they married on May 6, 1950.
Casper was an honorable man, who worked hard to support his family as a cabinet maker at Airstream Trailer. He adored and cherished our beloved mom deeply, the two of them lived a beautiful life devoted to the Lord, their marriage and treasured the blessing of family above all.
They danced to Big Band musicians, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Frank Sinatra, Glen Miller, and loved Mariachi music. Weekends included long drives with family and enjoyed picnics at the park. He loved cars, girls softball, and westerns. He had many talents including maintaining his vehicles, he could fix anything, and loved a meticulously well kept landscape.
His daughter Cathy, will remember his tight hugs n kiss and him saying,” I love you and never forget it” She cherishes what mom and dad used to do in the morning, they would pray, say the Rosary together, read the Bible and faithfully go to church every Sunday.
His daughter Theresa, has so many memories it is hard to pick just one. When he used to have doctor’s appointments, sometimes she would take him in his red truck. He would be happy because he would say “it still drives good!” Then he would want an ice cream and enjoyed it so much some of it always ended up on his shirt! She will miss that.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, fun grandfather, and a faithful family man. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, and in the example he set through his love, passion, sincerity and enduring faith.
Casper is preceded in death by his Beloved Wife Maria Guadalupe Martinez, his seven brothers, five sisters, Grandson Michael Martinez, Son in Law Ronald Rangel, and Great Granddaughter Samantha Grace Ramirez.
