Born in Montebello, California, Cathy spent nearly her entire life in the Golden State. She grew up in Pico Rivera and around the beautiful waters of Pine Flat Lake, where she developed a lifelong love of being on the water. In her younger years, she enjoyed boating, water skiing, and swimming, finding happiness and freedom in the time she spent on the lake.
Throughout her life, Cathy held a variety of jobs, but her work as a caregiver brought her the greatest pride and fulfillment. Caring for others came naturally to her and extended far beyond her professional life. With a generous heart and selfless spirit, she consistently put the needs of others before her own, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Cathy was outgoing and talkative, never one to shy away from a conversation or sharing her thoughts. She also had a stubborn streak, a reflection of the strong-willed and determined woman she was. Her beautiful smile could light up a room, and she found happiness in cooking, gathering with friends, and spending time near the water.
Family was at the heart of Cathy's life. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, John Lemmons, whose strength and steadfast nature were qualities she deeply admired. She valued their partnership and believed strongly in the importance of teamwork, encouraging those closest to her to support one another and face life's challenges together.
Above all else, Cathy was a devoted and fiercely protective mother. Her son, Travis, was the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater happiness than the time they spent together. She was endlessly proud of him, and anyone who knew Cathy likely knew all about Travis, too. From his latest adventures to the cherished memories they made together, she delighted in sharing stories about her son.
Cathy is survived by her husband, John Lemmons; her beloved son, Travis Lee McDonnell; and her brothers, Dave and Bill Ehrle.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Though her beautiful smile will be deeply missed, the kindness she shared, the memories she created, and the lessons she taught will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
