Charles Wayne Carney

Charles Wayne Carney went home to be with the Lord Nov. 21, 2016. Born August 8th, 1937 to James and Alma Carney in Jonesboro Arkansas. Charles, who went by Chuck, was the 3rd of 4 children: elder sister Dean Hargrave, brothers Jim Carney and Larry Carney. Jim and Dean preceded him in death and were probably among those waiting at the pearly gates for his arrival. Chuck married Rose Carol West on February 4th, 1956 in Huntington Beach, Ca. where they resided. This year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was drafted into the Army Dec. 7, 1958 where he trained as a Military Police Officer and 1961 was transferred to Kaiserslaughteren, Germany. Chuck and Rose had three children, Brenda Van Pelt, Stacy Pestana and Charles “Lane” Carney. They have also been blessed with three grandsons, Ryan Pestana, Austin Bolin and Adam Pestana. Chuck had two sons in laws, Kenneth Van Pelt and Michael Pestana who preceded him in death. Dad worked at Ford Motor Company for a brief time but was a house painter at heart. He resided in Garden Grove for 14 years then moved High Desert March of 1978 where he started Chuck Carney Painting. He worked in the painting business for a total of 50 plus years. Dad had many friends and family who will miss him deeply.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 2nd , 11:00 AM at

Sunset Hills Memorial Chapel, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley,CA. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
