

Saddened by their loss, his family is celebrating his life which began September 16, 1933.
He was born along with an identical twin brother in Billings Montana to parents Barbara Margaret and Lewis Melrose Halverson.
Don loved sports while growing up in Billings. He and his brother played football and earned many top athletic awards.
He attended the University of Montana with a major in Physical Education.
In 1953 Don joined the US Marine Corps and served as a Sergeant until September 1956. He earned awards for Good Conduct and received the National Defense Service Metal.
Following his military service Don began his career in Law enforcement. Whittier Police Department was lucky to have him on their force for 30 years!
He was recognized for his exceptional marksmanship and received Policeman of the year Award. His reputation on the police force led him to his assignment with the Riverside District Attorney's Office in 1989. Don also held a Private Investigators license and offered service to his community through numerous charity organizations. Currently he serves as a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was a dedicated sportsman who always enjoyed his billiards, fishing, golf and of course loved ALL spectator sports!!! This sportsmanship carried over to his family life.
Always present for every event, his involvement had a positive influence on his children and grandchildren leaving cherished memories.
Don is survived by his wife of 40 Years – LaRue Halverson. They have lived in Apple Valley CA since 1989.
He is also father to 1 Son- Troy Halverson. He is step father to 3 daughters, 3 son in laws, grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Services for Don will be held Friday, September 9th at 10:00 AM. (Showing at 9:00 AM)
