Efrain Navarrete

Efrain Navarrete, 73, was called home on June 1, 2023. He is survived by his wife Rachel Navarrete, his daughters Melissa Navarrete, Anita Navarrete, Olivia Lawrie and his siblings Sally Fights (South Carolina), Maria Rubi (South Carolina), Ismelda Cerda (Texas) and Abelino Navarrete (Texas). Efrain also has 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Efrain in preceded in death by his son David Navarrete, 2 grandsons David Jr. and Diego Navarrete, parents Augustin and Maria Navarrete, and brother Juan Navarrete.

Efrain was born in Harlingen, Texas on March 1, 1950. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S Army from 1970-1972. Efrain moved to California in 1972, where he started working at Santa Fe for 38 years.

Efrain enjoyed watching football and wrestling, fishing, golfing, spending time in his garage, traveling to Texas and Kansas, and loving on his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also volunteered his time to Barstow Youth Football for many years.

Services for Efrain will be on June 12, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10am. A luncheon will follow at the VFW in Lenwood at 1pm.
