Gary Douglas McWatters passed away on July 30th, 2026 at the age of 84. Born on April 27th, 1942, Gary lived a full life marked by years of hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family and friends.

Known for his tough disposition, strong opinions and kind heart, Gary worked hard his entire life. He retired from Contel Telephone Company with 33 years of service and pursued numerous hobbies with an intense passion. He loved watching his sons and grandsons wrestle, his protection dogs, horses, guns, and knives to name a few. He freely shared his advice and his wealth with family and friends, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. Those who loved him will remember his steady presence, practical wisdom, and warmth that has always shown through.

Gary and Betty (Elizabeth) were married for 64 years. Together they built a loving home and raised a large close-knit family that now spans four generations. Their partnership was a true testament to enduring love, commitment and a shared purpose.

He found eternal peace alongside his mother Florene and his father Houston, brother-in-law Rick and nephew Troy.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Betty (Elizabeth); his sister Linda, niece Raelynne and husband Gene, his 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

His son Bobby and wife Stephanie and their children: Megan; Scott and wife Shelby, with sons Sawyer and Stetson; Ryan; and Morgan and husband Brandon, with children Mak and Ember.

His son Curtis and wife Barbie, their son Eli and wife Megan, with children Brynlee, Austyn, and Gunner; Paige and husband Justin, with children Irelynn, Merrick and Isla Bo.; Riley and husband John, with children Emily and Jack.

His daughter Lindsey and husband Jeff, with children Makayla and Maddox.

Gary leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and strength. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
