I have had the pleasure of working with Harrison for the last five years. We didn't see each other much during the school year, but we would work side by, daily, during the summer. We referred to each other as "brothers" and it denoted not only affection but respect. Harrison knew his job and he also knew his students. During the summer we would invariably run into one of his old students and he would know them by name and would speak and encourage them. If you ever visited or worked with him in his lab he would love to show you all his student's work that he had posted all over the walls. Harrison loved movies and old 70's rock like Cream and Led Zepplin but you had to draw that out of him because he wanted to talk about his family and his students. He could be a quiet and unassuming man, but he was a strong man of convictions and faith. We would usually pack a lunch, but sometimes we would splurge which for Harrison meant going to the Costco food court. There he would have no problem sitting down among all that activity and taking off his hat and bowing his head, and he would pray for both of us. Harrison will be missed by our department and his school, and by all of us who knew him as a friend.

Dad there are so many great memories but my favorite is when we used to chase rabbits on your dirtbike. I Love You!!!:heart:

Harrison was an example of a believer in all that he did. He exuded joy in his interactions and left everyone he met better for it. I am grateful to have had him as a friend and coworker. I look forward to our reunion and seeing his bright smile once again. I hope the joy he lived by will sustain his family in their mourning. May the Holy Spirit bring you comfort and your memories of him serve as signposts for the faith he lived by. See you in heaven brother!

I met Mr. Coates at Lakeview a few years back.  He helped us with the technology for a professional development class. He was incredibly organized, clean, sweet, and funny.  He was always helpful. I am saddened by the news:(

When I arrived at my new job at Lakeview Leadership Academy, I did not know many people.  However, I immediately knew that I had a brother and sister in-Christ working with me as soon as I met Harrison and Nancy.  Mr. Coates was always so kind to me and I knew that even if I didn't see him (he was always so busy) that I had support right next door to me.  He helped me  with so much.  Harrison and Nancy have always been a support to me even spiritually.  They both made me feel like family.  While I know he is in a good place, I miss him.
