Herlinda Carrillo

Ms Herlinda (Lopez) Carrillo was born January 19, 1925 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on May 25, 2018 in Apple Valley California. She was raised in El Paso Texas, married then moved to La Puente California and raised her 8 children Tony, Genevieve, Vivian, Albert, Bonnie, Norma, Vincent and David. Herlinda had 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Herlinda was creative, feisty, stubborn with a sense of humor, independent and always insisted she could do everything herself. She loved animals, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, sewing and gardening and going to the casino. She enjoyed sitting outside for hours and feeling the warmth of the sun and the beauty of the trees. She liked listening to music and would often be heard singing in her room. She liked watching westerns and Martial Art movies but her favorite show was Walker, Texas Ranger.

Herlinda loved her sweets and ice cream. Her favorites were cookies and milk after lunch and a drumstick ice cream after dinner which she ate every day, sometimes two drumsticks when she insisted she never got one. There was always an abundance of cookies and ice cream around.

She will be deeply missed but memories of her will live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
