

James was raised by his beloved grandmother, who introduced him to his first great love: baseball. Each week, she would take him to games, and it was here that his admiration for the sport began. As a child, he also had a special bond with his dog, Buddy, whom he doted on and cared for with deep affection.
His early years were filled with memorable moments spent with his father. They enjoyed hunting together, a tradition that forged a lasting connection. His father also introduced him to the world of contracting, taking James to work and sharing knowledge that would stay with him throughout his life.
James attended Matawan High School, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding athlete. A letterman all four years, he excelled in baseball, basketball, javelin, and track. He was a standout pitcher for the high school baseball team, and his skill in basketball earned him multiple mentions in the local newspaper. James also won numerous awards in javelin and track, showcasing his versatility as an athlete.
In July 1955, James enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he began an extensive and distinguished career. He quickly became known for his leadership and dedication. As a supervisor, James earned many accolades and awards for his contributions to the military. James retired from the Air Force in 1981 and it earned him the respect of colleagues and peers alike. He was known for his integrity, his work ethic, and his deep love for his country.
After the Air Force he went into Civil Service, playing a key role in government relations and international diplomacy. Throughout his military career, James traveled extensively, both within the United States and abroad, gaining experiences that shaped his worldview.
He then retired at the age of 70. James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time in his garden, tending to his property, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. He cherished camping and fishing trips with his grandchildren and looked forward to family gatherings, where his love for his family shone brightly. James was also an avid fan of detective stories and TV shows, often indulging in his favorite mysteries. He found joy in bowling, playing cards, and poker, always seeking fun moments to share with friends and family.
James is survived by the love of his life and sweetie, Joy, their children James Jr., Linda Lee, and Gina Marie. He is preceded in death by his son, Rocky.
James leaves behind a legacy of service, athleticism, and love for family and friends. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, whether through his military accomplishments, his sporting triumphs, or the love and care he gave to those around him.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
