Jeanne Williams, age 58, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29th 2016, comforted by her loving husband Douglas. Jeanne was an independent, brave, and inspirational woman who heroically fought a four year battle with breast cancer until the very end. During her last hospital stay, Jeanne was constantly being attended to by her friends and family, sharing their stories of love for her.
Jeanne’s life was her family, she is survived by her husband of 25 years Douglas Williams, her daughter Cassandra Williams, age 21, son Chase Williams age 19, father Frank Reyes, mother Roberta Reyes, brother Pancho, sister Jennie Shaw and chosen sisters Hazel Griffin, Susan Jacobs, and Laurie Savage.
Jeanne was extremely proud of her children and their academic and athletic pursuits at college. She was especially proud of her son Chase, who helped take care of her along with his sister Cassandra, who both became members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars during these difficult times.
Jeanne was proud to be a stay at home mom and was actively involved in school, music, and sports programs involving her children. She fell in love being a sports mom, attending almost every game or fencing match, while providing support to all.
Softball was a special type of therapy for her, which allowed her to escape the constant battle with cancer, even if it was just for a couple of hours. Her passion for softball and watching her daughter pitch while on scholarship in college led Jeanne to establish herown college scholarship to help others attain their own dreams.
Jeanne’s family is committed to fulfilling the softball college scholarship she initiated before her passing. Jeanne would rather see any donations go toward the scholarship she set up to help college athletes with their future.
We invite anyone wishing to donate in Jeanne’s memory to contribute to the go fund me page http://dm2.gofund.me/2h28jpg.
