Johnny Gonzales was born on October 01, 1961 in East Los Angeles, California.
During his working years Johnny was employed as a Test Driver for Subaru America, a Los Angeles City Certified Structural Steel Welder, and Inside Salesman for Epson America. Throughout his lifetime Johnny served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Boise Idaho Mission. Some notable happenings in Johnny’s life were that he was both bitten by a shark and struck by lightning. Johnny amazingly survived a fall from a two-story building. He also won a Country Music singing contest at the Cocky Bull Bar & Restaurant.
Johnny Gonzales graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He was a teacher for the High Priests of the Granite Hills Ward.
Johnny was often seen cheering his sons on at the football field. He found great pleasure listening to his children sing, as well. Many will remember his beautiful tenor voice singing “O Holy Night” each Christmas. He filled his days sharing his love of God and Christ to anyone who would lend an ear. He would not begrudge a beggar a dollar or two and often talked to them about their lives.
Johnny Simon Gonzales left this mortal existence on November 13, 2016 in Apple Valley, California after fifty-five faith -filled years.
Johnny Simon Gonzales is survived by his wife of twenty-four years Camille Romero de Gonzales and their four beautiful children, Daniella Gonzales, John Simon Gonzales, Ezekiel Gonzales, and Alyssa Gonzales.
He is also survived by his Sister Lisa (Alex) Gonzalez of Apple Valley, Brother Maxie (Lilian) Gonzales of Whittier, Brother Jacque (Claudia) Gonzales of Temecula, and Sister Venetia (Tom) Medina of Pico Rivera; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Services are being held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 12242 Navajo Rd., Apple Valley, California with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM and Funeral Service to follow. The Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park 24000 Waalew Rd. Apple Valley, California following the Church Services.
