Kathie Ann Verbick

Kathie was born on August 11, 1955, in Lawrence, Kansas. Following her graduation from High School she attended Cosmetology School and began her 15+ years as a hair stylist. She loved making people feel good about themselves and took pleasure in their friendships over the years.

In October of 2014, Kathie suffered a major stroke that left her partially paralyzed and permanently wheelchair bound. Her life became limited but her remaining twelve years were spent with her husband in their home in Hesperia, CA where he provided all necessary care giving.

Kathie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steven James Verbick, her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shannan Verbick of Bonham, Texas, and her daughter, Tiffany Verbick of Vista, CA. She has five grandchildren, Timothy, Evelina, Rylee, Gabrielle and Waylon. She is also survived by her brother David, and her sister Joy.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Sunset Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park located at 24000 Waalew Road in Apple Valley, CA. Private Viewing for family will be from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, Funeral Service from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, and Graveside Service from 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital by calling (888) 708-4011 or (844) 739-0849. They will ask for Kathie’s name and the name and address of the next of kin to be notified.
