June 11, 2013 – July 11, 2026
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved Maddox Angelo Guadalupe, who entered eternal rest on July 11, 2026, at just 13 years old.
Maddox is survived by his devoted mother, Kayla Roy; his beloved big brother and best friend, Landen Saez; his cherished puppy, Moose, whom Maddox lovingly called his four-legged "son"; and his father figure, Joshua Rodriguez, whom Maddox proudly and lovingly called "Dad." He also leaves behind countless grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends across both the East Coast and West Coast who loved him beyond words.
To know Maddox was to love him. He had an infectious smile, a heart of pure gold, and a gift for making everyone around him laugh. He loved deeply, without judgment, and had a rare ability to make every person and every animal feel safe, loved, and important. There simply was no such thing as having a bad day when Maddox was nearby. Whether he was making a funny face, an unexpected sound, or cracking a joke, he had an incredible ability to bring joy into every room he entered. He never met a stranger. Whether someone had known him for years or had just met him, Maddox had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and like they mattered. He left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Maddox loved playing soccer, spending hours on his PlayStation, hanging out with his friends, and making memories with Moose, who was never far from his side. He had an extraordinary love for animals, big and small, and showed kindness and compassion to every creature he met. Fearless, selfless, and full of life, Maddox always put others before himself. Even as a young boy, he made it a point to check on those around him, making sure they were okay before thinking of himself.
Maddox also loved exploring the world alongside Joshua, someone he proudly called "Dad." Whether they were boarding another airplane, relaxing on a beautiful beach, or searching for the next great seafood boil, every trip became an adventure. Those travels filled his life with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable memories that his family will cherish forever.
One of the greatest blessings in Maddox's life was his relationship with his older brother, Landen. He admired him in every way, constantly asking for fashion advice, hairstyles or which cologne he should wear. Their bond was unbreakable. Maddox knew his big brother would always have his back, just as Landen knew Maddox would always have his.
Above all else, Maddox was a mama's boy. No matter how old he became, he never outgrew spending time with his mom. Whether it was running errands together, cooking, watching movies, or simply talking about life during car rides with Moose, those moments meant everything to him.
Every day, without fail, Maddox would FaceTime his mom on her drive home from work. Even though he knew she would be home soon, he couldn't wait to tell her about his day, hear about hers, or simply keep her company. He wanted to make sure her drive home wasn't lonely or daunting, and those daily conversations became one of the many ways he showed his love. It wasn't because he had to—it was simply because he wanted to.
The bond between Maddox and his mom was built on friendship, trust, laughter, and an unconditional love that never wavered. No matter where life took them, they always made time for one another. His love was genuine, constant, and selfless—a love that will remain in his mother's heart forever.
Maddox was preparing to begin 8th grade alongside his best friends, excited for the memories still to come. He was an outstanding student who consistently earned Honor Roll recognition and received countless academic awards throughout his school years. While his accomplishments made his family incredibly proud, they were always secondary to the remarkable young man he was becoming.
Although Maddox's time on Earth was far too short, the impact he made will last forever. In just 13 years, he touched more hearts than many do in a lifetime. His laughter, kindness, compassion, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in every person blessed enough to know him.
The loss of Maddox leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends—a space that can never truly be filled. While we mourn the life that was taken far too soon, we will forever cherish the countless memories, laughter, hugs, and unconditional love he gave so freely.
Our sweet Maddox, you will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever remain in our hearts. Your light will never fade, and your memory will live on in every smile, every act of kindness, and every life you touched.
Until we meet again, our sweet Maddox.
Forever 13. Forever making us laugh. Forever our sunshine. Forever our boy.
