Marjorie Cole was born April 21, 1936 in Newellton, Louisiana to Guye Wilson, Sr. & Lena Hopkins. At a young age, she moved from Louisiana to California living between Oakland and Richmond. She received her elementary, Jr, High, and High school education from Richmond Public Schools graduating from Richmond High School.
After completion of high school, Marjorie met Bill Garrison and together they had 4 children: Larry, Xavier, Tyrone, and Adrian Denise. Later, on May 20, 1964, she married Montez Cole, Sr. and to their union came Myra Elisa and Montez II.
Mom went into the healthcare nursing industry for over 20 years. After her tenure in healthcare, she broadened her horizons in law enforcement as a security guard. During this time, she also owned property throughout the counties of both Alameda and Contra Costa.
Marjorie accepted Christ at a young age, and, throughout her adult life, attended Deliverance Temple in Berkeley, CA under the leadership of the late Bishop Butler for over 20 years. She later worked with Pastor Be.Be. Dennis at Jesus Ministries in Oakland.
In 2002, Mom decided to uproot to Southern California (Apple Valley) and remained until she was called home. While in Apple Valley, she attended Oasis Community Church of Hesperia.
Mom was an outstanding cook who would prepare food for the church and anyone else that was hungry. People would call to place orders for her famous Sweet Potato Pie. A pillar to her community, Mom was a jewel to the 37th Street neighborhood and loved by all.
