amazing years. Every day was a blessing to this beautiful soul; she walked through

life with a smile. Hope was heard and spoken through her voice and words;

kindness and compassion were explained through her eyes and actions. She loved

life and lived it to the fullest …and through her choices inspired others to do the

same.

She was everyone’s friend and created new, lasting relationships wherever she

went. All who knew her valued her welcoming spirit …she had a persona that just

seemed to say hello. Bingo was her fun time, she enjoyed winning …but mostly she

loved socializing with friends. It was all about relationships with Merde, she

treasured people.

Born in California on May 16th in 1921, Merde left this life to be welcomed into the

next …in Lady Lake, Florida on July 25th in 2016. She will be interned at Victor

Valley Cemetery, in Victorville, California alongside her late husband Gordon

Benson.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, two brothers, one sister, husband

(Gordon Benson) and son (Mark Benson). She is survived by Ralph and Candice

Rocca (her son-in-law and daughter), Fred & Armeline Timperlake (her brother-inlaw

and sister), Robby & Shannon Corsaro (her grandson-in-law and

granddaughter), Ralph & Brandye Rocca (her grandson and granddaughter-in-law)

and Gianna Yannone, Courtney Corsaro, Savannah Rocca & Reyleigh Rocca (her

great-grandchildren).

For now, as family and friends …we say goodbye to a light that shined brightly in our

lives and in the lives of so many others. We say thank you to God Almighty (the

creator of life), for touching our lives with such a beautiful individual. We say

Godspeed to the wonderful soul of Mercedes Mary Benson with assurance and

confidence that we will once again say hello.

Merde, Mom, Grandma …you will forever be remembered and missed.
