Russell Edward "Russ" Schultz, age 54, of Apple Valley, California, passed away on May 7, 2024. Born on May 13, 1969, in Okinawa, Japan, Russ was a selfless, kind, and compassionate man who brightened the lives of all who knew him.
Russ served with honor in the US Marines for 10 years before embarking on a successful career. He worked as a corrections officer at Maranatha Correction Facility, managed a Jack in the Box store, was district manager and later served as the Human Resources Director for the same company.
A mentor to many, Russ impacted countless lives with his generosity, wit, and genuine nature. He was known for his adventurous spirit and his ability to make everyone around him feel special. Russ enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, playing basketball, going to Vegas while also winning big , and shooting guns at a “gun range.”
Russ is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Schultz, his children Billie Sanchez, Sabrina Schultz, and Christine Schultz; his stepdaughters Abigail Fraley, Jocelyn Potter, and Maddie Potter, his grandchildren Mila Sanchez, Liam Sanchez, Coraline Martinez, and Wesley Fraley; his son’s-in-law Fernando Sanchez, Brandon Fraley, and Mathew Martinez; his brother George Schultz, his father, Russell C. Schultz and stepmother, Luck Schultz. He is also survived by the mother of his three daughters, lovingly known as his “PITA,” Kimberley Wood. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kiyoko Nakashige Schultz.
A service to honor and remember Russ will be held at the Sunset Hills Mortuary in Apple Valley, California on Friday, June 7 at 1:00 pm.
Russell Edward Schultz will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those knew him.
