Simon - Hernandez

Simon Hernandez passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024 at the age of 67. He was surrounded by the people and music he loved. Born on February 16 1957, he was known for his immense heart and compassion for others. He had an unwavering love for his family coupled with a strong work ethic to provide for them.

He is survived by his wife: Guadalupe Hernandez, Daughters: Victoria & Athena, Sons: Christopher & Joshua; and his many adoring grandchildren.

Simon's life was characterized by his love of music and cinema. He knew every band or song by asking him a part of the lyric. His ability to deduce a movie by a simple quote was impressive. He was passionate about his family and making sure we had core values that were inculcated regularly. He was a faithful servant of God and knew his bible. He will be remembered for all the deep affection and memories that he left with those he encountered.

He was employed at Owen Illinois doing upkeep on machine operations. He was active in stimulating the local community and would help his fellow neighbor in any way he could. He will be missed by both neighbors and colleagues.

The memorial service is scheduled for September 5th 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Hills Mortuary. There will be a reception to follow the memorial services on the Patio at Sunset Hills Mortuary at 3:00 PM.
