

Zoila Szobonya, age 43, passed away in Apple Valley on September 16, 2017. Zoila was born in San Francisco, California on July 30, 1974, the daughter of Jesus Romero Sr and Ana Maria Renderos. She was the beloved wife of Michael Szobonya.
Zoila graduated from Raoul Wallenberg High School in San Francisco in 1992. Soon afterwards, she joined the United States Army, honorably serving for 5 years at locations around the world as a member of the Military Police Corps. It was during this time she met her future husband. They married in Heidelberg, Germany on December 17, 1997. After her military service, Zoila worked as a medical assistant, secretary, and in sales. After moving to Apple Valley in 2006, she worked at FCC Victorville.
Zoila had a great appreciation and respect for all things military and loved both God and country. She was an avid movie watcher, Disney lover and wrestling fan. Although a city girl by birth, Zoila loved nature and the great outdoors. She had the most amazing smile, a big heart, and unconditional love for her children. Above all else, her real passion in life was for her children.
Zoila is survived by her husband, Michael; her two children, son Michael Szobonya Jr, daughter Mikayla Julianna Szobonya; her father, Jesus Romero Sr; her mother, Ana Maria Renderos; her 3 siblings, her brother Jesus Romero Jr; her sister Laura Soriano; her sister Margarita Dunlap; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Linda Szobonya. Zoila also leaves 7 nephews and 5 nieces as well many other loving relatives and close friends.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Apple Valley on October 5, 2017 at 09:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
