Aaliyah Sharrine Shakir

Aalyiah (Sharrine) Shakir, a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, passed away peacefully after a life rich in love and family on July 28, 2025,at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of Abdul Shakir for 59 years, a partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering support. More than a mother, she was a best friend and confidante to her children, Abdul Shakir Jr. (transitioned 06/03/1988), Rafiq Shakir, Raushanah Pouncy and husband Demond Pouncy, and Tauhidah Shakir. Her legacy of love will live on through her grandchildren, Khalia Chapell, Nia Shakir, Omar Shakir, Yasmin Martinez, Anthony Pouncy, Destiny Pouncy and great-grandchildren Kyrin Chapell, Aaliyah Chapell-Eady-Amin, Samiyah Pouncy, and Ryan Pouncy. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace. A woman of incredible strength and resilience, no matter the obstacle.

A celebration of life will be held on August 3, 2025 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at a Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive Arlington, Texas 76012.
