Amanda Mae Doris Lowe, 94, was born September 27, 1927, in Fort Worth, TX, and passed away October 14, 2021, in her home in Arlington, Texas, surrounded by her beloved family. Doris graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth and retired from the banking business many years ago. She was married to her husband, Roy, almost 75 years. Doris and Roy were inseparable, never giving up the practices of kisses, supportive hugs, holding hands, and saying "I love you."
Doris loved Jesus, taught about Him, sang about Him, prayed to Him, and lived according to the commandments set out by her Savior in the Bible. She was a magnet for all the people she met. They were drawn to her to enjoy the love, hugs, jokes, and the acceptance that were freely given. Her children remember their childhood homes being full of friends, relatives, and friends of friends, and always including laughter, eating and singing.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Roy Lowe; daughters, LuAnn Pennington and Melinda Lowe; son, Jay Lowe; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; much-loved nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
She has joined in Heaven her father, Newton E. Weathers; mother, Amanda Weathers; sisters, Erlene Christy and Wilma Caskey; and twin brother, Darius Weathers, who Doris has now met for the very first time.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 5, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, 76012. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
