

Anna B. Getzoff, age 95, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family, in Arlington, Texas. Anna was born on October 1, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa to Clarence and Anna Burr. She was raised in Waterloo, where she built the foundation of a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. On May 10, 1952, she married Robert Getzoff, and together they shared many years of marriage and raised two children.
Anna dedicated many years of her life to working as a nurse, caring for others with the same compassion and gentleness that defined her character. Outside of her career, she found joy in attending church, participating with the Prayer Shawl ladies, quilting, the Norwegian Society, playing Words With Friends and Rummikub, traveling, and spending treasured time with family and friends.
Those who knew Anna will remember her for her loving, caring, and nurturing spirit. She had a special way of making others feel valued and cared for, and her kindness left a lasting impact on everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Getzoff; her son, Douglas Getzoff; her brothers, Kenny and Rae Burr; and her grandson-in-law, Eric Perry.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wheeler; granddaughters Alaina Wolfe, Arlene Perry, and Analicia Bevel; great-grandchildren Cameron and Cayley Wolfe, Remi Moody, Jordan, Shawn and Connor Perry, Joshua and Maci Rose; and soon to be great great-grandbaby Perry; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
Anna’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life service for Anna will be held at Advent Lutheran Church 3232 S Cooper St Arlington, Tx 76015 on Saturday April 18, 2026 at 11am
