

Funeral: 10:00 am Friday, May 5, 2017 in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the funeral home.
She was a wife, mother of nine, and tough as nails having grown up through the Great Depression. She was a hard-working woman working for Grumman Aircraft during World War II and later McCrory’s 5 and 10 Cent Store at Six Flags Mall as a waitress for 18 years.
Her husband of almost 40 years, Joseph Balkon, predeceased her as well as her firstborn son, Joseph Balkon Jr. of Huntington, New York.
She is survived by her sons, William "Bill" Balkon of Euless, Texas; Charles Balkon of San Jose, California; Richard Balkon of Arlington, Texas; Edward Balkon of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; Walter Balkon of Arlington, Texas; and daughters, Joanne Balkon of Arlington, Texas; Mary Taylor of Blue Ridge, Texas; and Susan Cahill Perez of Plano, Texas and their respective families. She is survived by 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
