

Bessie was born October 16, 1916 in Fulbright Texas to George Henry Wallace and Edna Earl Christian Wallace. She moved as a young child to Wellington, Texas where she was a beauty queen and a skillful member of her winning high school basketball team. She married Oval Clark, her husband of 72 years, and moved to Fort Worth, where she was a homemaker and raised her three children. Bessie was an avid gardener, taking great pride in her multi varieties of Iris. She loved to bake and made bread every week, gifting friends and neighbors - even hanging a loaf on her mailbox for the postman. She volunteered for N.E.E.D many years distributing food and clothing for the less fortunate. She was a faithful Christian, a member of Birdville Baptist Church for more than 50 years, and director of the kindergarten Sunday school department for more than two decades. She had a generous and loving spirit that will fill our hearts forever. She was predeceased by her husband Orval Clark in 2008, by her son Donald Clark in 1996, and by one daughter-in-law, Mary Thomas Clark who passed in 2010.
Survivors include one son Gary Clark and one daughter Linda Ranelle, both of Fort Worth, six grandchildren; Holly McCanlies and husband Mark, Ann Ranelle and husband Michael Boothby, Jeff Clark and wife Daniele, Michael Ranelle and wife Jennifer and Cherise Clark, and six great grandchildren.
