Betty J. Harless

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation to precede the graveside service in the Moore Funeral Home at 10 a.m.

Betty was born on Mar. 19, 1924, in Huntington, West Virginia, to George and Marguerite Conway. She grew up in Huntington and married the love of her life, Jennings Harless, in Tampa, Florida, in September 1943. Through 69 years of marriage she and Jennings enjoyed dancing, ping pong, board games and card games, but most especially golf. An excellent golfer, she played at Rolling Hills Golf Course for many years and was a top notch player and won many trophies – especially for putting. She was one of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever know and was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved to cook and bake, and nobody could hold a candle to her pies.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012. We will miss you, Mom, but we know you have joined Dad in heaven.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Beth Aarni and husband, Mike; son, Garry Harless and wife, Charmaine; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
