Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Parkdale Cemetery, 701 Mary St., Arlington. Visitation: The family will recieve friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington.
He was born July 28, 1928, to Harry and Dorothy Ater in Oberlin, Kan. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Ater, and parents.
Survivors: His wife of 57 years, Edna; sons, Bill Ater Jr. and his wife, Kathi, Michael Ater and Phillip Ater and his wife, Kathy; grandsons, Mark Ater and his wife, Elisha, Brett Ater and his wife, Amy, Daniel Ater and Joshua Ater; great-granddaughter, Braylin Ater; great-grandson, Josiah Ater; brother, Donald Ater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
