

Bonita Marie Maurer was born December 20, 1948 to Betty Jane Maher and Edward Andrew Marince in Erie, Pennsylvania. She graduated from McDowell High School class of 1966 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1969 with a degree in Nutrition.
Bonita married her collage sweetheart Gary Maurer of Sunbury, PA., in June of 1970. They were married for 39 wonderful years and lived in Arlington since 1977. In 1978, their son Jacob Edward Maurer was born in Dallas. In 2001, Jacob married his college sweetheart Jessica Carter Maurer in Abilene. Jacob and Jessica live in Arlington and have two children, Hannah, age 14 and Max, age 12.
After college, she worked for Xerox for several years. After Gary got out of the Air Force, they moved to Arlington and she started her life long career at IBM for 42 years. In her retirement, she spent most of her time enjoying her son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and her little dog Rosie.
Bonita was a life member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She led her chapter for many years as President, Panhellenic representative and then as President of that group.
She attended advent Lutheran Church and later Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she served on the events committee
She was a Texas Ranger fan and Season ticket holder for 10 years
Bonita was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful Grandma, and was blessed with great friends that would do anything for her and her for them.
Her husband, Gary Maurer, and parents, Edward and Betty Marince of Arlington, preceded Bonita in death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Jessica Maurer; grandchildren, Hannah and Max, of Arlington; brother, Pat Marince of Castroville, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sue Keen of Harrisburg PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dolores and Lorenzo Tironi of Middletown, NY; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday April 27, 2020 from 3PM to 7PM at Moore Funeral Home on N. Davis. A private burial will be on Tuesday April 28 due to current gathering restrictions. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date TBD.
