On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Carlos Omar Gonzalez, loving son, brother and dear friend of many, passed away at age 33.
Omar was born on April 2, 1987 to Jose and Norma Gonzalez, raised-proudly in Oak Cliff, Tx. He received his Civil Engineering degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and practiced in Dallas.
Omar had a passion for his neighborhood, and was involved in projects to improve the foundation of it, including the Oak Cliff Streetcar Project with DART. He was also very artistic, and had a passion for painting and drawing. He was a big fan of sports including his favorite teams: Texas Tech Red Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. His biggest gripe was not seeing the Dallas Cowboys return to Superbowl contention as in the early 90's.
He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Omar is survived by his parents, Jose and Norma; brothers, Nelson and Gilberto; and many other family members.
