Carol Ann Hillebrand 1936 - 2021

Carol Ann Hillebrand, 85, of Keller, Texas, passed away to her heavenly home on November 18, 2021, in Grapevine, Texas.

Carol was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on September 30, 1936, the only child to Carl and Natalie Herrmann, and moved to Texas in 1980 from Sterling Heights, Michigan.

After High School she was employed by the Detroit News, where she met her future husband Leonard (Len). They were wed on August 8, 1959 and were married for nearly 30 years prior to Len’s unexpected passing.

Carol ceased working outside the home to be a full-time mother to her children, lovingly caring for her family. She served as primary caregiver for her mother during the later years of Natalie’s life. During Carol’s own later years, she resided at Evergreen of Keller Senior Living, as an active and vibrant member of the community there, where she relished participating in a variety of activities such as church-sponsored group meals, bingo games, and listening to karaoke as performed by her friends and neighbors. Throughout her life Carol was a loving daughter, devoted wife, selfless mother and grandmother, and loyal and generous friend. Few things brought her more joy than bringing joy to the lives of others. Her faith in God was an important part of her life, and she demonstrated it in a practical way through reaching out to people in need. Carol brought light and laughter into the lives of everyone she touched, and she will be so greatly missed.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard John Hillebrand in 1989, and by her eldest son, Mark Jeffrey Hillebrand in 2016.

She is survived by three children, Michael (Terri) of Peoria, Arizona, David (Sheryl) of Keller, Texas, and Michelle Joseph (Dan) of Parker, Texas. Carol is also survived by ten grandchildren: Mark (Chrissy) of Rowlett, Texas, Preston (Ashley) of Dallas, Texas, and Amanda of Garland, Texas; Heidi Gladden (Josh) of Palo Verde, Arizona, Michael of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Macey of Peoria, Arizona; Hallie Plum (Kirk) of Arlington, Texas, Shelby of Denver, Colorado, and Noah of Keller, Texas; and Danny Joseph of Parker, Texas.

Carol is further survived by great-grandchildren James, Max and Blake Gladden; and Jamie Alonso.

She will be greatly missed but with the treasured legacy she leaves, will live in our hearts forever.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 26 at Moore Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 1219 N Davis Dr, Arlington, Texas 76012. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, with the memorial service at 11:00 am, and a graveside service to follow immediately thereafter.

Carol and I shared common roots from Michigan and we often talked about the area outside of Detroit. As a neighbor here at Evergreen, we saw each other often at all the events put on by the community, but especially karaoke where she was always front and center as our best and most faithful audience member! I will miss her smile and her infamous "eye roll". I have never met a sweeter lady. Rest in peace, I am sure you and Jesus are having the best conversations ever!
