Carolyn (Jane) Brashear Jones, 86, was called unexpectedly to her heavenly home on March 14, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on January 23,1932 to Pascal Merlin and Mary Lucille Lewis Brashear in Memphis, Tennessee. She was raised in a loving Christian home with her two brothers, Paul Merlin Brashear (deceased) and Dr. Robert M. Brashear, Jackson, Tennessee.
She attended Memphis State College where she sang in the college choir and earned money for college by playing the piano. She later used her gift at Fielder Road Baptist Church accompanying the Triple L Singers.
After moving to Texas, She worked at Container Corporation of America. There she met and married her husband of 37 years, Glen Edward Jones. Carolyn became a loving housewife and devoted mother to Jeffery Glen and Jana Carol. Glen passed away in 1996.
Carolyn loved life and was an excellent cook. She loved her friends, walking, her kitties, the birds, music, poems and traveling with her church. She was an avid gardener and could make anything grow. She was a very kind and caring person with an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor-all gifts that carried her through difficult times. But, above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery Jones of Arlington and her daughter, Jana Jones who resides in Prosper with her husband Dustin Knight, brother, Dr. Robert Brashear and numerous nieces and nephews, and their respective families.
A Memorial Service is being held at the Fielder Road Baptist Church on Saturday, March 31st, at 11:00 AM where she was a long time member. Visitation begins at 10:15 AM. The church is located in Arlington at 1323 West Pioneer Pkwy in Arlington.
