Cecil E. Cunningham

Cecil Ellalene Cunningham, 94, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Moore Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation and refreshments at Moore Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Cecil was born in Mena, Arkansas on December 1, 1921 to George Allen Maxwell and Sophie Idalee Taylor Maxwell. Her parents died when she was a small child, so she was raised in the Corsicana State Home for Orphans. Cecil graduated from Texas State Home High School. She married Ben Howard Cunningham on December 21, 1942 in Denton, Texas. They made their first home in Denton and settled in the Arlington area in 1965. Cecil was employed with Gerald Savley Cleaners during the last ten years of her career. Her passions were God, family and country music.

Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Cunningham in 1994 and by her son, Jimmie Cunningham in 1999.

Survivors include her two daughters, CeCe Phillips and Susan Landers and husband Rick, one son, Larry Cunningham and his wife Anne, daughter-in-law, Pauline Cunningham, grandchildren: Shellie Stewart, Michelle Cunningham, Melanie Williams, Shawna Sullivan, Sean Cunningham, Scarlett Shockey, Marty Shockey, Robert Phillips, Hank Phillips, Michael Phillips, Heather Cunningham, Krystal Cunningham, Aimee Steele, Blake Wisdom and Haley Julin, 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
