Charles Ruben Black

Charles Ruben Black, 76, lifetime resident of Grand Prairie passed away July 30,2016 at home. Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5 at Moore Funeral Home and burial to follow at Moore Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He was born in Campbell, Tx. on December 23, 1939 to Ruben and Emma Dell Black. Charles was an Army veteran and retired from LTV in 1996 and was a member of UAW Local 848 in Grand Prairie . He was married to Julia Ann Hendricks who preceded him in death as did his parents.

Charles is survived by a sister in Washington state, one son Leslie Black, three daughters Sharon Higginbotham, Debra Robertson and Kathy Jackson, three sons-in law, four grand daughters, three grand sons , two grand daughters in-law and two grand sons in-law, one great grand daughter and two great grand sons, one niece and one nephew and many cousins in Texas.

Charles had many roles and names through the years, Son-Husband-Dad-PawPaw-Uncle-coworker-veteran-drinking buddy-poker partner and will be missed by all that knew him. Charles was a steady and calming force for his family.
