

A talented artist, she graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, Texas, and earned a master's degree in Psychology from the University of Houston. She was a homemaker for many years, then later was employed at the University of Texas at Arlington as an office assistant.
She spent her retirement years traveling on various cruises with her husband, James E. Lawrence, who preceded her in death. Together they toured much of the world. Also among her interests were taking art classes and reading. Several friends and family members are proud owners of her artwork.
Claire's son, Thomas James Lawrence, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Ward Lawrence, her daughter, Christine Hughes, her grandchildren Melanie Hughes-Dunn, Anthony (Tony) Hughes, and Jonathan Lawrence, and great-grandson Seth Samuel Dunn.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at the Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis, in Arlington, Texas on February 16, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM, and funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, with burial afterward.
