On August 11, 2024, Claudia Nell (Boulware) Miller, 86, of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully, just a year after losing her beloved husband, Charlie Louie Miller. Born on November 30, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Claude Hardin and Nellie Marie Boulware, Claudia’s life was marked by love and dedication to her family of two daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Claudia spent her childhood in Beaumont and Fort Worth, TX. Although she faced challenges like polio, her gentle spirit and love of life’s simple joys carried her through. She graduated from Amon Carter-Riverside High School in Fort Worth and briefly studied physical therapy at North Texas State University in Denton before completing secretarial school.
In the spring of 1962, Claudia met the love of her life, Charlie Miller, at The Tropicana in Fort Worth. It was the start of a love story that would span over six decades. They married on August 30, 1963, and built a life together in Arlington, Texas, raising two daughters, Kimberly and Kellye.
Claudia was a devoted mother who stayed home with her girls for many years before returning to the workforce once the girls were teenagers. Even when Claudia returned to work at Samsill Corporation, her priority was always her family.
Claudia cherished simple pleasures. She found happiness in family camping trips, though she left the fishing to others. She supported Charlie’s fast-pitch softball hobby, often traveling to games with the entire family. She loved reading Agatha Christie novels, playing cards with friends, and listening to the soothing voices of Nat King Cole and Rosemary Clooney. She often returned to watching her favorite musicals and TV shows, such as White Christmas, South Pacific, M*A*S*H, Murder She Wrote, and the Golden Girls.
Her shared dream to move to the country with Charlie came true when she and Charlie purchased a piece of property outside of Itasca, Texas, in the late 1990s. There, they built a home known to their family as “the land,” which included a swimming pool where she spent countless hours with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories.
Claudia Nell (Boulware) Miller is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Louie Miller; her parents, Claude and Nellie Boulware; and her brother, David Boulware. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Turner and Kellye Bickel; her sons-in-law, Dave Turner and Danny Bickel; her grandchildren, Brittany Pratt and husband Mario Martinez Garza, Jordan Pratt and wife Shauna Pratt, Parker Lawson, Donovan Lawson, Natalie Bickel, Zachary Bickel, and Logan Turner; and her great-grandchildren, Autumn Pratt, Corrin Pratt, and Braylen Young.
