Hey Ma, 

Boy, oh boy, there is so much to tell you. I have needed you so much this past year. I think of you often when I am listening to music and cleaning. I still hear you humming to music as you cleaned, cooked, or sewed.   I'm almost finished with school, and work is going well.  Casey is doing better than he was; Mom, I needed you so much when Casey got sick. If you were still alive, I know you would have been by our side to help, because that is who you were; you had such a serving heart.  I miss you so much, Ma.  I love you so much.

I've been thinking about you so much lately.  I sure could use one of our phone calls.  I would fill your ears with how the girls are growing, and tell you all about Bella's little sister, Evelyn and little brother, Levi.

Connie, I find myself looking for you picking up my phone to call you... I miss you so much! Thank you Connie for loving me!

My fondest memories of you will always be whenever you and your sister - my mother - would get together and talk about spending most of your younger years trying to wrangle your crazy brothers, who continually seemed to be getting into trouble one way or another. I loved how affectionately you'd talk about our grandmother, and the kind of positive impact she made on all of us. The love, support, empathy and compassion you had for us and shared with us was always truly unique and uplifting, and will forever be a huge part of my life. Your legacy continues on in your children and in this family and will never be forgotten. I love you, Tia. 

To my beloved TC, 

Thank you for always making me feel like a part of this family from the moment we met. You showed me love and kindness from day one and I am so blessed to have been able to call you my Tia Connie. Thank you for the conversations about life and chatting about those crazy books you and your sister could somehow read and still go to sleep after reading..haha! Thank you for always encouraging Jess and I with our art and artistic endeavors in general. I'm going to miss your laugh and your inquisitive mind. I still remember you coming to our house not too long ago for an overnight birthday celebration. It was the night we bought a ton of toilet tissue and we all made dresses and did a fashion show out of tp. We colored, we ate great food, we talked, we laughed, it was just an awesome time. I remember going to bed that night and hearing you and mom Lopez giggling and chatting in the guest room and it made me smile. You were always making me smile anytime I got to see you. We have one of your beautiful quilts and will cherish it always. Thank you for loving me as one of your own. I truly felt that from you, always. You are so missed and very loved!

On those days I Forget WHO I am those words you once spoke to me Help Me Remember Tia. 

I thank God for giving me You as a Tia. You helped teach me what LOVE is.

 I will miss those bright eyes & big smile you gave each time I saw you. I will hold you in my heart forever Tia.

I will be forever grateful for the unconditional love you showed me over the years. You always tried to lift me up with positive consejos every chance you had.  You always fed me every chance you got too. Remember that one time in Hillsboro when you fed me a little too much and I couldnt fit into my quinceanera dress?!  You did the same with my girls. The love Elia has for you...it runs deep and she misses you every minute of every day. She had so many more stories she wanted to tell you, books she wanted to read with you and splashes she wanted to make with you in Nina's pool. 💕

You were one of the first people in my life to encourage my love for reading. I will really miss not being able to get any new books from you with those hidden notes in them letting me know how much you care. I will miss those "discussions" on why reading books by authors with Spanish surnames are a must. Your hugs and kisses on the cheek were the best. I just miss you.

I remember how nice and friendly she was at school.  She would come and help Nina prepare her room for the upcoming school year.  She showed love and affection for Nina and was so proud of her.  She had such a warm and friendly smile. I know she was so important and loved by her family. Nina always talked about her with such love and affection.  I know she will be missed by all.

Hey Tia it’s your nephew Chris.

 Lol, no matter how many times we talked, or how many times I let you know that saving a contact in the phone would always tell you who’s calling, you always started every conversation “It’s your Tia Connie.” Lord I’m gonna miss those calls. Those random questions, the debate settles between you and your siblings, the I.T. help...lol. But most of all, I’m gonna miss your loving warmth. The kind words you ALWAYS knew we needed. The wise words you put into such simplicity that made everything better. Now here I am, just as I watched you over the years, crying not wanting to say or wave goodbye. But though you aren’t here with us physically anymore, that spirit...that love you shared with all of us, will continue to live until we see each other again. Until that day comes, the “Tia Connie blankets” you keep us warm and keep you near.

Hey mama,
Here we are, 9months later... another great person in my life gone from my arms...
You was helping me with losing dad and I feel that I'm at a great loss now with you gone... thank you mama for everything... and the future...
You and daddy have given me so much. I just pray I have made you both proud and that I can do the same with people in my life.
Daddy may have given me a strong back... but you have blessed me by showing me to be helpful, generous and loving. I'll keep that going for you mama.

Grandma you are and always will be the sweetest woman I know.  My love for all things vintage or little trinkets came from you. I will always remember laying my head in your lap and you brushing my hair anytime we would come to visit when I was younger. I’ve kept all of the birthday cards and little notes that you have given to me over the years. I still hear your voice and I miss calling you randomly to tell you how things were going. I will cherish the quilts, memories and everything  that you have made with love. I will let Rosalie know how loved she was by her great grandma even if it was just for awhile. I love you grandma and I miss you so much. 

 I will never forget about you and Tia Linda telling me about the Watermelon Man Hahahhahahahah! Im gonna miss your big hugs and big Ol'smile! I know you're making beautiful quilts for the angels! I love and miss you so much Tia♡! 

Ma is what I called her, and she would answer, "...what Gorda?" .   It's what I hear when I think of her just before I close my eyes lately.    

We called each other several times a week and after our chats, I would go about  my day and go over advice she gave me or I would just smile to myself at something funny she said.   

She and I shared a love of the Rocky series and each time that she saw that Rocky was on TV, she would call me and say, " ... Gorda, Rocky is on... you wanna watch together ?"     I will miss those calls. 

My mother was stern, she was funny, and she loved with  her heart and soul.   She was a happy person, and you could see and hear the joy in her heart when she hummed to music while quilting. 

She was committed to her children, an incredible grandmother, a soundboard for her nieces and nephews and loved her siblings faithfully. 

Ma, I love you so much.  Rest in His perfect peace.  



My friend Connie I will always remember our friendship. We had a lot of great times.  You and Linda were there for me when I needed a friend.  I will always keep our memories in my heart. You were a very kind and sweet person. I could go on and on about what your friendship meant to me.  I wish we could’ve stayed in touch. But I’m glad I got to meet up with you and Linda a few years ago.  Rest In Peace my friend.

Connie was a Kind, Trustworthy, and Loving Woman! She was always willing to offer a helping hand. She took care of my children and made them feel like one of her own grandchildren. She made the best  scrambled eggs and made reading fun for my kids.  Connie loved her family so much and was there when they needed her most. I will always be thankful for all that she did for my family.  She will be missed as much as she is LOVED!!! 

I love you Grandma. I'm gonna miss you. I remember taking her to the movies. We would chat about life and look around the mall before the movie.

I miss you , my heart literally hurts , I miss watching you do what you did best. I miss just watching NCIS and eating , I miss telling you about boys and how cute they were , I miss feeling your warmth, I miss you yelling at me just because  I’m annoying. I am blessed that I had such a wonderful grandmother. 

Grandma Connie was one of the people that I'll love forever. She was modest and she had never known how to say no. Grandmother I am grateful and honored to have been with you. The greatest thing that happened to us was making you live close to my house. You came for us at such a difficult time and you healed us. I hear your voice every time I think of you, I feel your love and I miss you

My momma had a serving, playful heart. She loved babies, quilting, giving gifts, Dr. Pepper and pan dulce, and she was a ferocious reader.   She was the kind of momma that played with us.  She hated talking about politics. She believed in family first, and although she didn’t love my hours as a teacher,  she helped me set up my classroom and get ready for meet the teacher night every single year for 19 years!  I miss you momma.  I hear your voice in my heart, I hear your consejos in my ear.  Thank you for being my rock, the one who kept me grounded.  I’m so grateful to Holy Father that we were together and for growing up with you. I adore you.
