Corriene was born at home, on a stormy rainy night in Shay, Oklahoma. Her dad and grandpa went to get the doctor but the flood from the storm prevented them from getting back in time for the delivery, so her grandma, Maudie Stevens delivered her. She spent most of her youth living in the Shay/Madill, Oklahoma area until the family moved to Boise City, Oklahoma. They lived outside of town on a farm. She was the 2nd of 9 children. There were 4 girls, and 5 boys. When Corriene was 19, she married and shortly thereafter moved with her husband, Russell to Arizona. When she was 21, her firstborn, a son arrived, with 4 more to follow in the years after. The family eventually moved back and settled in Guymon, Oklahoma.
One of the greatest memories from Corriene's children is how their mother was a very hard working woman. She owned restaurants in Guymon, sometimes working double shifts. As her kids grew up and married, she moved back to the Shay community to help take care of her mother in her later years of life. When Corriene's husband passed, her children moved her to Arlington, Texas in 2008 where she became a member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church.
Corriene is survived by 4 children; John Tooley of Madill, Oklahoma, Tricia Bergstrom and husband Scott of Arlington, Texas, Rene Doran and husband Jay of Carrolton, Texas, and Shirley Nunley and husband Jimmy of Madill, Oklahoma; one brother, Holly Fly and wife Jackie of Alvarado, Texas; one sister, June Walters and husband Johnny of Canute, Oklahoma. She has 7 grandkids, 7 great grandkids, and 2 great-great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Tooley and one son, Michael Tooley.
