Cynthia Babb

Cynthia Corinne Steelman Babb, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Hannah L. Anderson and Joe Bailey Steelman. She was raised in Garland, TX and graduated South Garland High School in 1967. She attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry in 1972. Cynthia obtained her Masters of Science in Biology degree from the University of Texas San Antonio in 2003.

Cynthia married Harvey Babb in Garland, Texas in 1969. They had three children before their divorce in 1994.

Cynthia enjoyed gardening, reading mystery and science fiction novels, and loved cats and dogs. She frequently topped her children’s high scores on Atari’s Space Invaders and raised them to be independent, educated, and industrious. She had a very strong work ethic that she exhibited in her various jobs over the years, including manufacturing, retail, medical, and contact center.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hannah L. Anderson, father, Joe Bailey Steelman, and sister Charlotte Steelman Raaz.

She is survived by daughter Michelle Danica Babb of Campbell, TX, son Scott Alexander Babb (Michelle Huvar Babb) of Victoria, TX and son Allen Abner Babb of Goliad, TX along with three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on March 30, 2026, from 1pm-2pm at Moore Funeral Home 1219 N Davis Dr Arlington, Tx 76012 followed by funeral service at 2pm; burial will follow.
