Daniel Howard Laughary
Was born on March 23, 1948 in Witchita, Kansas to Howard Laughary and Elizabeth Beam. Dan passed away on September 21, 2022 and is now living in peace with our Lord and Father in Heaven.
At 2 years old he and his sister Deanna (1) were raised in the Maude Carpenter Childrens Home until 15 when he came to Moore, Oklahoma to live with his new Foster parents. Dan graduated from Moore Highschool. He attended Oklahoma Christian College, now University studying Theology.
He was drafted into the Army in 1970.
From there Dan worked at Transcon Lines in OKC as Operations Manager, Sales Representative, and Terminal Manager in Albq., NM. After Transcon closed he worked for Lee Way Motor Freight in OKC as Operations Manger, Sales Representative and Terminal Manager in Shawnee, Okla. From there Churchill Truck Lines, OKC as District Sales Manger and Sales Agent Benjamin Enterprises OKC for Roadway and National.
He married Linda Stratton on Aril 7, 1983. He worked as a contractor with KBR in Iraque hauling loads between Military bases.
The things he loved the most was Jesus first, his wife Linda and his family. And of course his harmonicas playing gospel all day on Sundays. He also loved his blues and country. But, he was a big jokester and pranksters as he loved the responses he would get from his children, grandchildren and friends. He loved to see everyone laugh and happy.
He loved to dance with his wife Linda. Anyone could see that as they danced in the kitchen, their music room, living room and the Driveway having many neighbors join them. He enjoyed playing with his children and grandkids. And he just loved all children as they were his own.
Dan is survived by his wife, Linda. Daughter Cindy and Ray Clark of OKC, Brooke Singmaster and children Boomer and Corey of Houston, Nephew Jeffrey and Valerie Lewis, OKC, Sister Deanna Mitchell, OKC and a special Sister-in-Law, Leslie Kay Stratton, AKA. Pee Wee. Grandchildren Elijah England, Keygan and Keyley Estell, OKC, Harry Clark, Cinn., Ohio and Catie, Wichita, Ks. Special adopted family John Coghlin, Peggy Eagan, John Tanz, TJ Kelly, not to mention 2 very special aides, Sheniqua Bowers of 4 years and Parnell Sylvester, 3 years. They were and are very special to Dan and Linda going through some very trying years and will always be part of our family.
Dan has been ill for the past 12 years after a major heart attack loosing alot of his memory and mobility. Not being able to enjoy so many things in life he used too, he never complained. God Bless my dear husband. Amen

A visitation for Daniel will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. The funeral ceremony will Follow 11:30 AM at Moore Funeral Home, He will be buried at 1:30 PM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75238.
