David H. Christesen

Veteran radio personality Jason Walker died on Friday, September 4, 2026 in Arlington, Texas after suffering a heart attack, a stroke, after falling off a bar stool, after getting run over by a steamroller, after passing several kidney stones while having a root canal, etc. He was 75 years old.

His given name was David Christesen, tho he seldom used it. He was born March 13th, 1951 in Emporia, Kansas to Tom and Ruth Christesen. Jason's life revolved around wild women, alcohol and gambling. He added, "The rest of my life was spent on silly, foolish things."

While his life was filled with laughter and pranks, (his favorite holiday was April Fool's Day, he spent three years in some very serious matters. Jason enlisted in the Marine Corps at 17 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant at 20. Being a Marine was an honor and he proudly served.

He then embarked on a radio career as a DJ. He liked to tell listeners that "I started at the bottom and rapidly went downhill after that." In North Texas Jason worked at KBOX, KLIF, KOL, KLUV, KPL and WBAP, and got fired at most of them.

He also worked at Dallas-based USA Radio Network for 20 years as a news anchor/reporter. For Jason there was no TV, adding, "I was too homely. Fact is, when I was born I was so ugly Dad handed out cigar butts. But what I lacked in looks, I made up for it with inferior intelligence."

Other endeavors for Jason included standup nightclub comedy (I wish those people would laugh), nude modeling for life drawing students (I hope those people don't laugh) and climbing radio towers hundreds of feet into the air to change light bulbs.

Jason married Jean Marie Wentling in 1973. They divorced.

He married Yvonne Dee Granger in 1978. They divorced.

He married McKayla Deandra Jacobson in 1991. They were divorced. He leaves no children that he's aware of.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Alden Christesen. He is survived by his sister Jeline Hinkson of St. Louis, Missouri, his sister in law Carolyn Christesen and Beth Perry and Maurice, Heidi Bethel and Bob, Paul Hinkson and Jodi, Mark Christesen and Bethany, Philip Christesen and Britney

Services will be at Moore Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

Jason says, "if you plan on showing up, wear blue jeans. No suit and ties because I sure as hell ain't getting all dressed up just for this."
