A Son's Tribute
David Daniel Ferman left this valley of tears and entered Paradise on January 17, 2022. He was 88. I sat by his side just before he left us and told him that he had nothing to worry about: Kathy and I will take care of Mom, and where he was going there was no pain, no worry, no COVID, no diabetes. I kissed his forehead, several times, and he died about 45 minutes later. Kathy, Mike, Mom and I all got to say our goodbyes, and his passing was gentle and free of pain and struggle. He just went to sleep. He is free now. This world can no longer hurt him. We cry and we mourn, but it is far more for us, because he knew there is a place of eternal joy and eternal peace beyond us, and he is there. He is exactly where he always wanted to be. God spared us so many endings that would have been so much worse. Take your rest, Dad. You have more than earned it. I have been lucky beyond measure to be your son.
