

heart disease. The morning of December 25, 2021 at the age of 85 years old he went to be with
his Lord and Savior.
David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda Kotila; his children Mary Kotila, Dan Kotila and Kathy Dakota; his stepdaughters, Denise McCaskill and Lori Massey; his sister, Bunny Meyer. He is predeceased by his parents, Herman and Anna Kotila and brother, Dick Kotila. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Devon Crenshaw, Michelle Roy, Lance McCaskill, Collin McCaskill, Hunter Massey, Dakota Massey, Savannah Massey, Justin Massey; and great grandchildren, Addison Roy, Jackson Roy, Brecken Massey and Bentleigh Massey.
David was born on February 24, 1936 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Herman and Anna Kotila. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a bachelors in Geology; from Miami University with a masters in Geology; and from the University of Oklahoma with a doctorate degree in Geology. David spent his career teaching college level Geology and Geography courses at Baldwin Wallace College, Tarrant County College and University of Texas at Arlington.
He was interested in outdoor adventure and loved the night sky! He adored animals and had a loving relationship with his puppies, Buffy, Peaches and Reggie. He was an incredibly kind and intelligent man that will be missed by his friends, family and all that knew him.
A graveside service will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas 1219 N. Davis Dr, Arlington, Texas 76012 on Monday January 17th, 2022 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association or Tarrant County College Foundation.
